There's a Reason We Call It Real Food

Mark did a very, very foolish thing. He gave me access to post on this blog!!

So for my first post, I thought I'd put up the recipe to Husband's Delight. As some of you know, I made this meal for RF a month back. Thankfully, God was with us that day and no one got diarrhea.

Anyway, I've gotten some requests for the recipe, so I thought I'd post it here. It's taken from my Amish Country Cookbook (yes, I grew up near the Amish, stop laughing). Let me tell ya though - I made this for my now-husband, Andy, on our second date, so I guess it worked! Below is a picture of us in Montreal in May.

HUSBAND'S DELIGHT

1 lb. hamburger
2 cans tomato or pizza sauce
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1 T sugar
1 T worcestershire sauce
1 tsp ground black pepper
8 oz sour cream
4 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
1 onion, finely chopped
8 oz noodles (I prefer spaghetti)

Cook onion. Add hamburger meat and brown. Drain juices.

To this, add in the tomato sauce, salt, garlic salt, sugar, worcestershire sauce and ground black pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes on low heat.

In a separate bowl, blend sour cream and cream cheese.

Cook noodles according to package instructions, and drain.

Mix noodles with meat mixture. Place a layer of this mixture in a casserole dish. Top with a layer of cream cheese mixture. Repeat process.

Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Bon appetit!!
